The Escient Vision VC1 sports a diverse collection of audio and video interfaces, delivering optimal connectivity. On the video side of things, the VC1 offers HDMI input and output (see below for more info on this advanced, single-cable interface), component-video output, S-video output, and composite-video output. The VC1's audio connections include digital optical and coaxial output and analog audio output. Offering additional connectivity for accessing digital video, music, and photos, the VC1 sports two USB ports. Finally, a Gigabit Ethernet connection links the VC1 to your Vision VS or VX media server.

Managing all of your movies and music on your HDTV is easy, thanks to the Vision VC1's high-definition user interface. The CD/DVD guide lets you import movies and access DVD menus, resume the film where you left off if you visit the DVD guide while watching a movie, or simply start from the beginning. The Movie guide aids you in playing movies from the hard drive, streaming movies from a Vision server, playing movies from an external changer, as well as in browsing movies by cover, title, genre, rating, cast or director. Search for your favorite songs by genre, artist, album, or song, and create your own playlists with the Music guide. The Music guide also provides the same help in accessing music on the hard drive, streaming music and playing from an external changer. The Photo Guide lets you view your photos in HD and create and play slideshows with customized transition effects and optional audio soundtracks.
